Embracing Eclipse Season: A Somatic Experience with Indigenous Understanding

Tansi~ Hello~

It's eclipse season, and it truly matters. The movements of the planets are part of our universe, and just as the moon affects the tides and oceans, the planets do affect our fields and bodies. We are made of water, after all.

During this time, I'm hearing and experiencing some pretty rough stuff. Old themes are resurfacing, prompting me to re-evaluate and respond in different ways. Wounds are reopening, pushing me to reconsider my approach to money management, career choices, and priorities. It feels as though my foundation has been shaken, and I find myself questioning decisions I thought were already settled.

This period of introspection is amplified by Mercury being in retrograde. While often maligned, the gift of Mercury retrograde is the opportunity to re-evaluate our strategies, projects, and even our approach to relationships. It's a time for reflection and reassessment.

Eclipses are about endings and beginnings. While I'm not an astrologer, I do appreciate the insights offered by professionals like Chani Nicholas and Rob Brezsny of Free Will Astrology. They remind us that we don't make decisions based solely on the planets, but we can integrate the energetic themes they bring to enhance our lives and make more informed decisions.

In the midst of eclipse season, with Mercury in retrograde, my advice is to pause. Pause and breathe. This is a time to reread, confirm appointments, re-evaluate projects, and edit, edit, edit. When emotions intensify, and you feel triggered, take a moment to pause and breathe deeply.

We're right in the middle of eclipse season, with the solar eclipse on April 8th and having just experienced the lunar eclipse. It's a potent time to embrace stillness and reflection.

As you pause, consider each exhalation a gift to the trees and plants around you. As you exhale, they inhale, creating a sacred contract of giving and receiving. This exchange of breath is a simple yet profound practice that can bring a sense of connection and peace during turbulent times.

So, as we navigate this eclipse season, let's embrace the opportunity to pause, reflect, and breathe. It's a time to honor the changes within us and around us, and to cultivate a deeper awareness of our inner world.

See you later

I'm based in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada, and you can reach me through my website, www.moniquewilson.ca, or via email at healwithmo@gmail.com. Please don't message me on social media, as my inbox is overwhelmed with spam. I check my email regularly, though it may take me a few days to respond. I'm not in a rush; I'm taking care of my nervous system and indigenizing my life, aligning more with my natural rhythm and decolonizing my practices.

If you have questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out. I'll be sharing more in two weeks at 11:00 a.m. on Kokum's Den. Thank you for listening to my story.
