I'm Monique Wilson, and today I want to share a powerful technique that's become a key part of my practice. As a clinical hypnotherapist, I've explored various healing modalities, including somatic experiencing, shamanic healing, and Indigenous healing techniques. Among these, a simple yet profound 2-minute technique has emerged as a favorite for managing emotions and achieving balance.
This technique is a blend of hypnotherapy principles and Indigenous wisdom, harnessing the power of intention and the body's natural healing abilities. It involves using your hands to physically manifest and release emotions, allowing for a quick and effective emotional reset.
Here's how it works:
Choose a Hand for Frustration:Â Select one hand (I usually use my right) to hold all your frustration. For example, when working on my business, tech issues can be frustrating. I put all that frustration in this hand, feeling its weight and tension.
Tighten and Release:Â Focus on the frustration in your hand, tighten your fist with that frustration, and then release. If you have joint pain, be gentle. The aim is to physically manifest the frustration and then let it go.
Choose a Hand for Joy:Â Now, use your other hand to hold all your joy and love. Think of happy memories, successes, or anything that brings you joy. Let your hand become a basket of all these positive emotions.
Bring in Joy:Â Focus on the joy in your hand, feel it expanding, and then bring that joy into your body. This step is about replacing the released frustration with positive, uplifting energy.
Alternate and Balance:Â Go back to the hand of frustration, add any remaining negative emotions, and release. Then, return to the hand of joy, adding even more positive energy and bringing it into your body. The goal is to diminish the impact of negative emotions and amplify the positive ones.
This 2-minute technique is a testament to the power of integrating hypnotherapy and Indigenous healing practices. It's a simple yet effective way to maintain emotional balance in our fast-paced lives. I've seen remarkable results in my practice, and I encourage you to try it for yourself.
In my journey through shamanic healing, somatic experiencing, and mediumship readings, I've learned the importance of quick and accessible tools like this one. They empower us to take control of our emotional well-being and navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience.

Please don't message me on social media, as my inbox is overwhelmed with spam. I check my email regularly, though it may take me a few days to respond. I'm not in a rush; I'm taking care of my nervous system and indigenizing my life, aligning more with my natural rhythm and decolonizing my practices. If you have questions or want to learn more, feel free to reach out. I'll be sharing more in two weeks at 11:00 a.m. on Kokum's Den. Thank you for listening to my story.
